Expat Money is written and edited by Wise Expat SG, a small Switzerland-based editorial team publishing under a shared byline to keep the founders’ personal details private. Team members are expatriates with multicultural, multinational backgrounds across industries including finance, education, and AI. Some articles are contributed by guest authors and edited by the team before publishing. Every review is scored against a fixed methodology, independent of any commercial relationship we may have with the company being reviewed. A provider cannot pay for a better score, and the absence of a commercial relationship never results in a worse one.
Our principles
- We research every product and service we cover against its provider’s current published terms, and where possible we test it ourselves, before publishing a recommendation.
- Where a team member has personal experience with a product, we say so, that experience reflects one person’s use, not a guarantee of your results.
- We update guides rather than leaving them stale, and our guides and reviews show when they were last updated.

Fact-checking and updates
Financial and factual claims are checked against providers’ official pricing/terms pages or a relevant Swiss authority (FINMA, ESTV, cantonal sources) at the time of writing, and each article shows when it was last checked or updated. Guest-contributed articles go through the same fact-check before an editor publishes them. When a reader flags something as outdated or incorrect, we re-verify it directly at the source before making any correction.
